Tuileries Garden, Paris

It’s the last day of February and I’m craving a little dose of summer. How about you? One of my favourite cities is Paris so I went back through my photos (some very old) and decided to share some images of the city’s oldest public park, the Tuileries Garden (Jardin des Tuileries).

The garden stretches from Place de la Concorde in the west to Place du Carrousel and the Louvre Museum in the east.

My most recent visit to Paris was in July – lavender season. On a previous spring visit, the horse chestnut trees were in bloom.

The white marble sculptures scattered throughout the park gleamed against a clear blue sky.

Birds came out of the shadows to bask in the sun.

The green folding chairs around the octagonal pond provided a more comfortable perch for passersby to stop, savour the beautiful summer day, and enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower.

I hope you enjoyed this visit to Paris and the Tuileries Garden. Now, back to winter…
